"Protecting your vital data is the single most important risk management strategy your enterprise will undertake to insure its sustained long term continuity."
Managing a World of Risks
We live in a world of rapidly advancing technology. Not that long ago protecting information was a lot simpler. Files—mostly paper—were easily stored in reinforced concrete vault systems. In this modern, Digital Age, today’s vital corporate information is stored on digital or magnetic media. Failure to adequately protect such data can mean the difference between your company’s sustained growth and survival or failure.
Corporate officers are now ultimately responsible for protecting their organization’s vital records. U.S. laws as well as other national and international regulations have imposed regulatory standards for storage, access, and retrieval of electronic information on public and private businesses alike. CEO’s and Boards of Directors must recognize their responsibility to protect records, which reflect their good stewardship. Furthermore, they must come to understand that successfully managing the modern world of risk means that vital information must be protected to ensure business continuity, while remaining accessible to comply with a host of legal requirements.
